Does GoDaddy really support PayPal?

Just before I can start writing this post, I spent several hours on trying to purchase my new domain name from GoDaddy through PayPal, because I have some funds in PayPal and want to avoid being charged without my permission in the future. But finally I could only give up and change to use my credit card to finish the payment.

The problem I encountered was almost at the final step, that it showed the following error messages:

Transaction failed because has no funding sources (10210)
There was a problem authorizing your credit. Please verify your payment information or use an alternate form of payment.

I've searched the problem on the internet, and found that some people had the same problem with me. So I'm wondering whether GoDaddy supports PayPal or not at present.

05/Oct/2008 update: recently I've successfully renewed my domain with PayPal.

  1. the same problem for me… damn godaddy/paypal! have anyone figured out what is the cause?

  2. I’ve bought a lot of domains at gaddady using paypal with no problems. Today when I try to buy a new domain I got that message, so I went to paypal site to find this:
“We will be performing maintenance on the PayPal site from 21:00 PDT to 02:00 PDT. The site may be unavailable during that time. Thank you for your patience.”

May be that’s your problem too?

  3. Re. paypal you must have a credit card now.
But I abandoned paypal method and used a master card and I had the same problem as you in the end.
The card I used was charged with exactly the amount in godaddy bill. How much money did I have to put in the card ?

  4. Might be interesting for you to have a little update on this issue.

I had the same problems as mentioned above, but almost three years have gone by. I endet up with different error codes like there was —> Transaction refused due to risk model (10205/Error) and another one which I can’t remember now (when it first appeared I had still the support guy from godaddy on the phone) and he said it doesn’t matter.

To me it seems the systems in the background don’t work properly together. All the codes produced were wrong because of the small amount of under 80 $ to pay!

But setting up an alternative pay method for PayPal on the list of methods to pay inside the godaddy account (loged in), it failed all the times. Trying to put it on the list during the checkout and payment process it ended with errors (but inside paypal) it said OK several times.

I have checked all accounts behind that and it seems perfect. So does GoDaddy now support PayPal or not? I think – NOT!

Have a nice day all together
